As with every other BPM detector I have found it only reads .mp3 files. Most of the music I have is .m4p and I don't want to convert it I just want to know what BPM it is so I can use it to exercise to!

The program works great... Simple and easy to use ...I've been looking for an easy way to measure BPM in songs for a while now
It helps when trying to create a certain style or beat in FLSTUDIO 8 Producer edition..

this thing works great.
I've been using it to find the tempos of beats made on a keyboard drum machine. It's nice to know the exact tempo sometimes like 112.14.
I would never be able to get it that exactly.

hey guys great program very helpful. Could be improved in allowing the search engine to search subfolders as well so i don't have to search through each file individually, have my music saved in artist/album/song format so is taking quite a while.

This is a great idea--It would be even better if it worked! I just want something to tag the bpm of my music for my ipod. Guess I'll have to keep looking, because this application didn't do it.

Good software

Software was easy to install and worked well. Used it to check against another bpm counter and the bpm's were pretty closely matched down to the 100th. Easy to use but haven't fully explored it yet.

Good product

I play in a rock band and we were discussing the float of a particular song we recorded. I downloaded two BPM detectors and ran them both against selected sections of the song that were under discussion. The other product analyzed a significant variation in tempo, so much so that we knew it wasn't an accurate reading (between 89 and 145 BPM in the same song). However, your software produced a consistent reading between the clips with variations of less than 5 BPM. I did notice however, that depending on how many seconds of sample time I set, the tempo would be indicated in double time, i.e. 221 BPM vs. 111 BPM. With that taken into consideration, it was still a more consistent reading than the other software.

I'd recommend this to other musicians.

pistonsoft bpm detector

initially I was searching for a real time BPM counter tool on google.
i used your pistonsoft bpm detector for the first time yesterday and i am very pleased to say that my first experiences are very good with the software. small note to say that perhaps you can make it possible at startup no full selection of the songs. mostly i only have to scan a few songs from the archive and would save a little time if i could select them manually, instead of deselect them. second, when saving the new value in the tag, i can not see it in real time. the accuracy is very good.

Just tried it

It's very user-friendly. It wasn't able to determine bpm for some songs, but I think once I spend more time with it, I'll find the settings for a longer sample, which should fix it. I can't wait to spend more time with it.
